The ELH team congratulates Dr. Peter Jan Koopmans to the successful defence of his dissertation "fmri of cortical layers". The public defence was held at the Radboud University in Nijmegen on September 19th. In his dissertation, Dr. Koopmans has developed techniques to increase the spatial resolution of fmri to such a level that cortical depth dependent signal changes can be distinguished. This allows new possibilities for cognitive neuroimaging.
